The Lagos State Government has asked property owners to repair and repaint the outside parts of their houses. The aim is to make the whole city look better and more attractive.
Speaking on Tuesday in Alausa, the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr Oluyinka Olumide, shared this message. He said people should take care of their buildings regularly and do things like painting, fixing broken parts, and improving how the buildings look. He added that this supports the government’s development plans under the T.H.E.M.E.S.+ agenda and the vision for a better Lagos.
Dr Olumide also asked house owners whose properties are near major roads to make building maintenance a regular thing. He said this will help the state reach its goal of becoming a modern city.
He mentioned roads like Ikorodu Road, Agege Motorway, Ahmadu Bello Way, Adeola Odeku Street, Lagos-Abeokuta Motorway, Herbert Macaulay Way, and Murtala Muhammed Way. He said house owners on these roads should give their buildings a fresh look to help the city become a 21st-century economy.
