Popular Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky has spoken out about the silence of politicians following the killing of nearly 200 people in Yelwata, Benue State. He showed his anger and frustration about how little attention the government has given to such a serious incident.
Bobrisky posted his opinion on Instagram, where he reminded people that these same lawmakers once held an urgent meeting just because of him. He was referring to the time they gathered to talk about the claim that he didn’t stay in a regular prison cell after being punished for spraying naira notes.
He found it shocking that those lawmakers could quickly meet over his personal issue but are now quiet and inactive while so many people have lost their lives. He believes they should have acted with the same urgency.
Bobrisky said the situation is shameful. In his words, the politicians didn’t call a meeting for the killings, but they did for him. He repeated the word “shame” to show how disappointed he was with their behavior.
He ended by calling Nigeria a “shameful country” because of how its leaders treat serious matters with little care, especially when lives are being lost.
