There was some drama at the Lagos airport on Tuesday, June 11, when Senator Adams Oshiomhole, the former governor of Edo State, missed his flight to Abuja. The situation quickly caught public attention, especially on social media.
Reports say Oshiomhole arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport after the boarding gate had already closed. He was said to be angry and allegedly told the airport staff to shut down the Zulu Terminal at the General Aviation Terminal.
A video of the incident is now all over social media. It shows Oshiomhole having a serious argument with airport workers after being informed that the flight was no longer boarding.
Eyewitnesses claim that he didn’t take the news well. Instead, he reportedly blocked the terminal entrance, stopping other passengers from entering the departure area.
Airport staff said the Senator asked for the flight to be delayed so he could still board, but the airline refused to hold the plane.
At the time of writing this, neither the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) nor the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has made any official comment about the incident.
Many Nigerians are now waiting to see if the authorities will respond or take any action following the airport drama.
