Benue, Plateau killings: Nigerians dying because Tinubu is their President – Kenneth Okonkwo

A former Labour Party spokesperson, Kenneth Okonkwo, says Nigerians in states like Benue and Plateau are losing their lives because Bola Tinubu is the country’s president.

Okonkwo explained that people are dying because President Tinubu has not been able to keep them safe.

During a talk with News Central TV, the famous Nollywood actor criticized those who support Tinubu’s government, saying it has let Nigerians down.

He said, “Anyone praising this government must be foolish.”

Okonkwo recalled that at the start of Tinubu’s presidency, he announced the end of the fuel subsidy even before forming a government.

Since then, the cost of fuel has shot up from 195 Naira to 617 Naira per liter, and the Nigerian currency has lost value. The government only tells people to be patient.

People are hungry and complaining, but the government keeps asking them to wait for months or years.

Okonkwo asked, “How can anyone praise this government while people are dying every day in Benue State? These deaths happen because Tinubu cannot protect his citizens.”

He pointed out that Benue is governed by a Reverend Father and is an APC-led state, yet attacks by terrorists and killer herders continue without any solution.

Okonkwo said it is wrong to praise this government while innocent Nigerians are being killed daily.

He also mentioned other areas like Plateau and the Northwest and Southwest regions where kidnappers kill people in gruesome ways. He said Tinubu does not receive or act on security reports that could help prevent these crimes.

Finally, he said that security is the most basic responsibility of any government, and this government has failed to provide it.
