Stan Collymore, a former Liverpool striker, has suggested that Chelsea should sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford during this summer transfer window. He shared this idea right after news came out that Chelsea had reached a deal to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich Town.
Collymore believes that Mbeumo would be a helpful addition to Chelsea’s squad and could support Delap as a backup striker under new manager Enzo Maresca. In his view, Mbeumo has the ability to boost Chelsea’s attacking options.
He also mentioned that he sees Mbeumo as a better player than Pedro Neto and Noni Madueke, who are both part of Chelsea’s current attack. Collymore clearly feels that Mbeumo would bring more value to the team than those two.
Recently, Chelsea agreed to sign 22-year-old Liam Delap from Ipswich Town. The young striker is expected to be a strong option for Chelsea going forward into the new season.
While speaking to Caught Offside, Collymore said Chelsea would be a great destination for Mbeumo. He added that Mbeumo is a player he really rates and sees as better than Neto and Madueke. He also believes Mbeumo could act as a solid backup option for Delap.
Bryan Mbeumo’s current contract with Brentford will run out next year. That means Brentford may consider selling him now rather than risk losing him for free in 2026.
The 25-year-old forward, who plays for Cameroon, has been linked with a move away from Brentford this summer. Many expect him to leave the club before the new season starts.
