I told Tinubu I won’t support, work with him – Amaechi

Rotimi Amaechi, who used to be Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation, said he once told President Bola Tinubu that he would never support or work with him.

Amaechi said the reason he made this choice was because he believed Tinubu did not have the ability to run Nigeria well.

He shared this during a party held to celebrate his 60th birthday in Abuja last Saturday.

Amaechi said, “When I met Tinubu in Yola, I told him I would not support you and I would not work for you. I did not help him, and I did not vote for him. It was because of his ability.”

He also explained that many people vote because of their ethnic group or religion. He said many voters who don’t understand politics are tricked into voting this way, which is a problem in Nigeria.

Amaechi added that after elections, leaders only try to keep power and do not care about the people.

He told those who voted for Tinubu to stand up now if they want. He said the opposition can remove Tinubu from power if Nigerians want change.

Amaechi also accused the government of using poverty as a weapon by stealing money that should have been used to build hospitals and schools.

Finally, he said the money saved from stopping fuel subsidies is going into the pockets of some government officials, not to help the people.
