Ex-gov Imoke feels proud as his product excels at National Sports Festival

Former governor of Cross River State, Senator Liyel Imoke, has shared his excitement and pride after an athlete who came through his sports program achieved great success at a national event. He said he feels more proud than anyone else because he saw her grow from the beginning.

The athlete, Patience Okon George, made headlines at the National Sports Festival held in Abeokuta, Ogun State. She was the only one at the event to break a record, which made her performance even more special.

Imoke posted about the achievement on his verified social media account. He said it was a joyful moment to watch someone who came out of the sports development program he started between 2009 and 2015 perform so well. Patience’s record-breaking run was in the women’s 400-meter race.

He praised her for being a strong example of what hard work, dedication, and consistent effort can lead to. According to him, Patience never gave up and always worked to improve herself.

Calling her a “legend in the making,” Imoke added that her success was even more impressive because she didn’t face any strong competition. She stayed ahead from the start, controlled her pace, and still set a new record.

Overall, Cross River State’s performance in this year’s sports festival was one of the best in recent years, showing that the foundation laid years ago is still paying off.
