De Bruyne rejected two Premier League teams before reaching agreement to join new club

Kevin De Bruyne, who is preparing to leave Manchester City, has said no to two Premier League teams before agreeing to a move to Napoli in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The 33-year-old Belgian midfielder had already revealed earlier this season that he planned to leave City, especially after the club didn’t offer him a new contract.

During his time at Manchester City, De Bruyne had an impressive career. He scored over 100 goals and made 177 assists — the second-highest number of assists in Premier League history.

After he made it clear he would leave, two English clubs and Serie A champions Napoli showed interest in signing him.

Reports from talkSPORT say the two Premier League clubs that wanted him were Aston Villa and West Ham United.

However, De Bruyne wasn’t keen on playing for another team in the Premier League. Because of this, he appears to have picked Napoli as the club he will join next.

Just last week, De Bruyne reportedly gave his approval to join Napoli after reaching a deal in principle with the club, now managed by Antonio Conte.

The former Man City star is expected to sign a three-year contract with Napoli, worth €17 million in total.
