A political group called PDP Frontiers for Change and Progress has strongly criticized the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. The group said Wike is the real reason the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is having serious internal problems. They described him as the biggest betrayer in the party.
The group did not hold back. They asked Wike to leave the PDP with dignity instead of staying back to cause more confusion. They accused him of twisting facts and pretending to be a peace-seeker while doing the opposite.
This response came after Wike had earlier claimed that Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah were betrayers. Wike said these two governors were behind the continued crisis in the PDP.
According to a report by Daily Post, Wike made a bold statement on Sunday, saying he had withdrawn from all gentleman agreements meant to help settle the party’s leadership problems. He vowed to continue the fight to the very end.
Wike also said that there was an earlier deal made by top party leaders. The deal included keeping Senator Samuel Anyanwu as PDP’s National Secretary and withdrawing all legal actions related to emergency rule in Rivers State. Wike claimed Makinde and Mbah did not follow through with that agreement.
But the PDP support group quickly responded. They said Wike was just trying to paint Makinde and Mbah in a bad light. According to them, Wike was only pretending to be concerned while actually working against the party.
Emeka Yellow Ikpegbu, who leads the group, said he was shocked that Wike—who they believe is secretly working with the APC—would accuse true PDP members of betrayal. Ikpegbu added that Wike and his loyalists are the ones causing chaos and trying to destroy the PDP from the inside.
He went on to say that instead of pretending to bring peace, Wike should just leave the party completely. He pointed out that Wike’s actions during the 2023 elections showed he had already left PDP in spirit.
In his final words, Ikpegbu stressed that it’s time for Wike to stop pretending and officially leave the PDP. He said Wike’s presence has brought nothing but discomfort and confusion to the party.
