Former President Donald Trump has shared his reaction after Joe Biden was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Biden’s personal office confirmed that he has a serious and aggressive form of prostate cancer. Soon after the announcement, Trump, 78, posted a message on Truth Social, offering support and well wishes to Biden, who is 82.
In his post, Trump said he and his wife Melania were saddened to hear the news. He sent warm wishes to Biden, his wife Jill, and their family, and said he hopes Biden recovers quickly and fully.
The announcement about Biden’s health came on Sunday, May 18. A statement from Biden’s office was shared by Wall Street Journal reporter Ken Thomas.
According to the statement, Biden went to the doctor because of increasing urinary problems. Tests showed a new nodule on his prostate.
Further testing confirmed that Biden has prostate cancer. It is an aggressive form, with a high Gleason score of 9, and the cancer has spread to his bones. Even though the cancer is serious, doctors said it is hormone-sensitive, which means there are effective treatment options. Biden and his family are now discussing these options with his medical team.
Other political leaders have also responded to the news. Vice President Kamala Harris, who served with Biden, shared her thoughts and support as well.
