Emir’s guards smash glass door at Katsina wedding after being momentarily denied entry

A short moment of tension happened during a big wedding ceremony at the Katsina State Government House last weekend. The guards of the Emir of Katsina broke a glass door after they were briefly stopped from entering the venue.

The wedding was hosted by Governor Dikko Radda and had many important guests, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The problem started because of tight security arrangements for the president.

According to Daily Trust, the entrance to the main hall was temporarily closed for security reasons just as the Emir of Katsina, Dr Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, arrived. A video shared online shows the Emir’s guards, wearing traditional clothes, pushing the door open. This caused the glass to break suddenly.

The loud noise from the breaking glass shocked many guests. But security officials and aides quickly managed the situation. The Emir was then led inside without any more trouble.

Although the wedding went on peacefully after that, the event has raised questions about how traditional rulers and modern political leaders interact. The image of the shattered glass door has now come to represent the tension that can happen when royal customs meet presidential security rules. Still, the rest of the ceremony went well, with prayers and blessings from President Tinubu, Governor Radda, and other top guests.
