Many Nigerians are talking after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) released a statement about the arrest of Martins Vincent Otse, also known online as VeryDarkMan.
The EFCC said they picked him up because of serious claims of financial wrongdoing. They explained that he was invited several times for questioning but didn’t show up.
The agency also made it clear that his previous harsh comments about them had nothing to do with the arrest. They insisted that their actions were only based on the ongoing case.
They added that VeryDarkMan has already been granted bail. He will be free once he meets the bail requirements.
This update from the EFCC has sparked mixed reactions among Nigerians on social media. Some believe the agency is being fair, while others think it could still be related to his online criticism.
