2027: Tinubu may not run, Amaechi will clear doubts soon – APC chieftain

A leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State and a close supporter of former Governor Chibuike Amaechi, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has suggested that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu might not run in the 2027 presidential election.

Eze mentioned that the 2027 election would bring unexpected developments, especially if the United States releases a controversial file on President Tinubu.

He also pointed out that the former Transport Minister, Amaechi, is the right person to challenge Tinubu in the upcoming election.

According to Eze, Nigerians are regularly asking him about Amaechi’s political plans for 2027, especially regarding his possible presidential bid.

In a statement shared with the media, Eze explained that many Nigerians are curious if Amaechi intends to run for president, with many asking about his political direction for the 2027 election.

Eze, who was the former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP), stated that people are reaching out to learn about Amaechi’s interest because the current administration is not addressing Nigeria’s pressing issues.

He criticized the government for focusing on holding power in 2027, rather than tackling the country’s severe challenges such as the struggling economy, food insecurity, violence, and daily crimes. Eze believes this focus on power retention is damaging to democracy.

He added that Nigeria needs strong leadership, which is why many Nigerians are calling for Amaechi to take action.

Eze expressed that Amaechi has always been proud of his country and has the qualifications to become president. He believes that Amaechi could be the key to addressing Nigeria’s problems and would do whatever it takes to improve the nation.

He further suggested that the 2027 election will be full of surprises, noting that Tinubu might not even be able to contest if the United States follows through with releasing the alleged file on him.

Finally, Eze remarked that the president’s failure to address Nigeria’s ongoing challenges may hinder his reelection chances.
