The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced that Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), will be released once he fulfills his bail conditions.
EFCC’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, shared in an interview with BBC News Pidgin on Monday that VDM will be set free upon meeting the bail requirements. He also mentioned that the case would be presented in court soon.
He explained that VDM’s arrest was due to several complaints from individuals accusing him of misconduct.
VDM was detained by EFCC officials in Abuja, a move that has sparked considerable outrage online. Many people have criticized the EFCC for what they see as an attack on free speech.
