Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen gifts Remo Stars N10m cash for NPFL title win

Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen has shown his support for Nigerian football by giving Remo Stars N10 million to celebrate their historic win in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Osimhen, who is currently playing on loan at Galatasaray, made a video call to the Remo Stars team and shared the good news himself. He gave N5 million to the players and N5 million to the technical crew to appreciate their hard work.

Remo Stars made history on Sunday by winning their first-ever NPFL title. They beat Niger Tornadoes 1-0 in a tough match, with Olamilekan Adedayo scoring the winning goal in the 84th minute. The win gave them 68 points, making it impossible for other teams to catch up — with three games still left to play.

This win also makes Remo Stars the first privately-owned football club to win the NPFL since Julius Berger in 2000. They are also the first club from Southwest Nigeria to lift the trophy in 25 years.

Coach Daniel Ogunmodede confirmed Osimhen’s generous gift and praised the striker for encouraging the team.
