British TV host Piers Morgan has criticized former First Lady Michelle Obama for her comments about how immigrants were treated under Donald Trump’s government.
Michelle Obama spoke on the podcast On Purpose with Jay Shetty, where she said she was afraid for people of color in the U.S. She shared her concerns about racism and unfair treatment, saying it made her worry and lose sleep.
“There’s a lot of racism and ignorance behind decisions like deportation. I worry for people of color in America and whether they have enough support,” she said.
But Piers Morgan didn’t agree. He pointed out that Michelle’s husband, Barack Obama, deported more people than any other U.S. president—over 3 million during his 8 years in office.
He posted on social media, “Her husband was the greatest deporter in U.S. presidential history – kicking out 3 million+ people in 8 years. Did THAT keep her up at night?”
Morgan’s comments have sparked debate, with many discussing who should really be blamed for strict immigration policies in the U.S.
