Delta: I’m not leaving PDP – Governor Oborevwori replies Nwoko

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has made it clear that he is not leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This response came after Senator Ned Nwoko, who recently joined the APC, claimed that the governor was planning to switch to the APC too. Nwoko made this statement at a political event in Agbor, where members of the Delta Unity Group officially left PDP to join APC.

During the event, Nwoko said Governor Oborevwori was trying to join the APC but was “not welcome.”

Reacting to this, Governor Oborevwori, through Fred Oghenesivbe, the head of the Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, called the claims “funny and baseless.”

Fred said both he and the State Commissioner for Information, Charles Aniagwu, had already cleared the air on this matter. He confirmed that the governor is not defecting.

He also challenged Senator Nwoko to provide proof, asking how Nwoko got the information if the governor never spoke to him about switching parties.

“Did Governor Oborevwori tell Nwoko he wants to join APC? If not, where is he getting his information from?” Fred asked.
