Media personality Stephanie Coker Aderinokun has spoken out against the high fees charged by housing agents in Lagos.
In a post on her Instagram story, she shared her experience with an agent who asked her to pay a non-negotiable N20,000 just to view a property. She also mentioned that some agents even charge up to 20% of the rent as an agency fee.
Stephanie said the situation is getting out of hand and asked the Lagos State Government to step in. She believes there should be rules to control how much agents can charge people who are looking for a place to live.
Many Lagos residents have also complained about the same issue, saying that these fees make it harder for them to find affordable housing.
