Anambra Guber: Soludo elected APGA candidate, announces Ibezim as running mate

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has been chosen again as the governorship candidate for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ahead of the November 8, 2025 election in Anambra State.

The party held its primary election on Saturday at Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka. Soludo was the only candidate in the race. The election was peaceful and well-organized, with 3,260 delegates expected. A total of 3,175 were accredited, and 3,172 voted. Out of the votes, 3,168 supported Soludo, with no votes against him.

The election official, Uche Nwegbo, confirmed Soludo as the winner and APGA’s official candidate.

In his speech, Soludo thanked the party for the support and promised to keep working hard for the people of Anambra. He said APGA continues to grow stronger and described the election process as peaceful and quick.

Soludo also said he was proud of what his administration has achieved in the past three years without borrowing money. He praised the support he has received from different groups, including market women, professionals, and other political parties.

He added that his team is just getting started and that they plan to win in all 21 local government areas, 326 wards, and even all polling units in the state.

Soludo also announced that his current deputy, Dr Onyeka Ibezim, will run with him again in the upcoming election. He said, “If it’s not broken, why fix it?”
