OGC Nice head coach Franck Haise is counting on Nigerian striker Terem Moffi to help the club secure a UEFA Champions League spot.
Moffi made his return last weekend in Nice’s Ligue 1 match against AS Monaco after missing more than eight months due to a serious knee injury. The 25-year-old came on in the 83rd minute of the game.
Nice is currently in fourth place in the Ligue 1 standings with 47 points from 27 games. The club is aiming to qualify for the Champions League, and Haise believes Moffi’s presence can make a big difference in the final stretch of the season.
“Terem brought great energy when he came on. He will be important for us as we push to finish strong,” Haise said. “Monaco was the better team, and we need to do better. I hope we show our true strength against Nantes on Friday.”
Nice fans will be hoping that Moffi’s return adds firepower to the team as they fight for a place in Europe’s top competition.
