AC Milan midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek had to undergo emergency surgery due to appendicitis just before his team’s match against Napoli. According to Sky Italia, the former Chelsea player was rushed to the hospital before the game.
Milan went on to lose the match 2-1 on Sunday. Loftus-Cheek has struggled with injuries this season, limiting him to just 14 league appearances. He previously missed 12 games due to muscular injuries before making his comeback last week against Como.
Now, the 29-year-old faces another setback and is expected to be out for a month. Loftus-Cheek joined AC Milan in 2023 and is under contract until 2027. So far, he has played 62 games for the club, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists.
