EPL: Guardiola handed touchline ban

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will not be on the touchline when his team plays against Leicester in the Premier League on Wednesday. He has been given a one-match ban after receiving a yellow card during City’s 2-1 win over Bournemouth in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday.

Referee Stuart Atwell booked Guardiola for arguing after striker Erling Haaland was fouled during the game. Haaland had to leave the match with a possible knee injury after a tackle from Bournemouth’s Lewis Cook. The Norwegian forward signaled to be taken off, but Bournemouth continued playing, which angered the City team.

Kevin De Bruyne was seen exchanging words with Cook, while Guardiola also showed his frustration, leading to his booking.

This was Guardiola’s third yellow card of the season. He was previously booked in City’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal in September and their 3-2 win over Fulham in October. As a result, he will have to watch from the stands when City faces Leicester.
