Trump reiterates support for candidate in Florida with history of Islamophobia

Former US President Donald Trump has called on voters in Florida to support State Senator Randy Fine in his bid for Congress. Fine is running in Florida’s 6th Congressional District, a seat that is usually won by Republicans.

Trump praised Fine on social media, calling him a “highly successful” businessman and a “greatly respected” state legislator. He highlighted Fine’s support for the “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement and encouraged voters to back him in the upcoming special election.

However, Fine has a long history of making controversial statements against Muslims and Palestinians. Earlier this year, he caused outrage when he seemed to praise the killing of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, a US activist who was shot by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank. Fine wrote on social media: “Throw rocks, get shot. One less #MuslimTerrorist. #FireAway.”

Fine is also known for his strong support of Israel and has often spoken out against Muslims and Palestinians. His views have sparked criticism, but he continues to stand by his statements.

Florida voters will head to the polls on Tuesday to fill two vacant seats in the US House of Representatives. Fine’s district is expected to remain in Republican hands, but his controversial views may continue to attract national attention.
