Popular Nigerian singer Reekado Banks has hinted at exposing someone in the music industry who deliberately holds back rising stars.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he claimed that this person always finds young, talented artists but ends up making bad decisions that ruin their careers. He described the figure as either completely clueless or acting with bad intentions.

Reekado Banks suggested that this person has been involved in the downfall of many emerging musicians, either by frustrating them or slowing down their success. He promised to reveal their identity in a future interview.

His statement led many to speculate that he might be referring to someone from Mavin Records, the label that helped launch his career. However, he quickly cleared the air, saying that he was not talking about his former boss, Don Jazzy.

In another post, he wrote, “It may not be obvious to you all, but I’m definitely not referring to Baba J [Don Jazzy]. Please and thanks.”
