Does he even know the meaning of democracy? – Daniel Bwala knocks Peter Obi over comment about Democracy failing in Nigeria

Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Policy, has strongly criticized Peter Obi, a former presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

Bwala reacted to Obi’s recent statement about democracy failing under the current government. Obi made the comment while speaking at the 60th birthday colloquium of former Deputy Speaker Emeka Ihedioha in Abuja.

If you look at where we are today, it’s like they (the PDP) started in 1999 and laid the foundation. Some people came and took it to the deck, and some people were trying to take it to the first floor when some people came and knocked everything down,” Obi said

He claimed that the progress Nigeria had made since returning to civilian rule in 1999 had been reversed.

In response, Bwala took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account to slam Obi. He questioned whether the former governor even understood the meaning of democracy.

Bwala also described Obi as a “failed politician” and claimed that while pro-democracy activists were fighting against military rule, Obi was only focused on business.

The exchange has sparked discussions among Nigerians about the state of democracy in the country and the role of political leaders in shaping its future.

‘’It is funny how failed politicians are trying to re-define democracy. @PeterObi said democracy has collapsed.

Does he even know the meaning of democracy.

When  people were fighting for democracy, Gregory was buying and selling.

He doesn’t have a history of any democratic activism from his school days to date.

His expertise lies in instigating hate speech and vitriol

Talk Is cheap” he said
