Nigerian pastor Femi Lazarus has once again spoken against the high fees charged by gospel artistes when invited to minister in churches.
While preaching recently, Lazarus shared a photo of an invoice allegedly sent by a gospel artiste to a church. The document revealed several expensive demands, including a first-class flight ticket, executive hotel suites, and a $10,000 honorarium.
Additionally, the artiste required that a team of at least 40 people accompany them, with the church covering their flight tickets, feeding, and accommodation.
The invoice also specified that 50% of the honorarium must be paid upfront before the artiste could confirm the event, while the remaining balance had to be settled two days before the programme.
Lazarus has been vocal about his concerns regarding gospel artistes treating church invitations like business deals rather than ministry. His remarks have sparked discussions on whether gospel musicians should charge such high fees for church events.
