Scotland: Balogun craves new contract at Rangers

Nigerian defender Leon Balogun has expressed his desire to stay at Rangers by signing a new contract. The 36-year-old’s current deal with the Scottish Premiership club will expire in a few months.

Balogun, who plays as a centre-back, hopes he can continue his career at Ibrox. Speaking to the Daily Record, he said:

“I didn’t play a lot at the beginning of my career—maybe that helps me now. I feel really good. If I can continue playing at a great club like this and contribute to more success, I have absolutely no reason to say no.”

Balogun first joined Rangers in 2020 after leaving Wigan Athletic. He played for the club until 2022 before departing as a free agent. However, he returned to Rangers in July 2023 and now wants to extend his stay.

It remains to be seen whether the club will offer him a new deal, but Balogun is eager to continue playing for the Light Blues.
