First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has expanded its operations by opening a new branch in Ogbomosho, Oyo State. The bank says this move will help more people access financial services and support the local economy.
The new branch, located along the Ogbomosho-Ilorin road, was officially opened on March 12. The launch event brought together important figures, including the Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, and local government officials.
Speaking at the event, Oba Olaoye described the branch as a great addition to the town. He believes that FCMB’s presence will help local businesses grow and provide financial opportunities to residents.
“This is a big moment for Ogbomosho. FCMB’s services will support our 25-year development plan, giving our people access to essential banking solutions. We look forward to working with the bank and hope to see more branches in our town,” he said.
Honourable Seun Ojo, Chairman of Ogo-Oluwa Local Government, also praised the bank’s decision to expand into Ogbomosho. He emphasized the importance of financial inclusion and encouraged FCMB to reach more communities to help businesses thrive.
The Managing Director of FCMB, Mrs. Yemisi Edun, was represented at the event by the bank’s National Head of Sales, Mr. Emmanuel Comla. She reaffirmed FCMB’s commitment to supporting Ogbomosho’s future.
“Ogbomosho is known for its hardworking people. Under the leadership of Kabiyesi Olaoye, the city has a strong development plan, and we are proud to be part of that journey. While digital banking is growing, physical branches remain essential for direct customer support. This branch will create opportunities and partnerships for the community,” she stated.
Mr. Ademola Idowu, FCMB’s Group Head of Operations and International Trade Services, shared that the branch is equipped with modern banking technology and runs on renewable energy. He explained that this would help improve banking services while also supporting local trade and businesses.
