Nollywood actress and former BBNaija star, Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan, also known as BamBam, has shared her recent experience with a Nigerian police officer. She expressed her disappointment, revealing that she was pressured to give money.
BamBam took to X (formerly Twitter) to describe how the officer stopped her and her assistant while they were heading home from a movie set. She said they were forced to step out of the car, and the officer started asking for money.
According to BamBam, the officer behaved inappropriately and was quite forceful. He told her to “show him love,” which made her uncomfortable. She explained that they could not drive off, so she felt pressured to give him something.
She emphasized that people should feel safe when they see the police, not uncomfortable or afraid. She also pointed out the difference between officers respectfully receiving tips for doing their job and those who demand money as if it is their right.
BamBam’s experience has sparked conversations online, with many agreeing that police officers should not misuse their power. Her story highlights the need for better behavior and professionalism among law enforcement officers in Nigeria.
