Top European clubs are in a race to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli. Reports from Italy suggest that Arsenal and Manchester United are among five clubs interested in the forward.
Osimhen, 26, played a key role in Napoli’s Serie A title win in 2022-23, scoring 31 goals in all competitions. He continued his good form last season with 17 goals and is currently on loan at Galatasaray, where he has netted 26 goals.
Napoli has set a £63 million release clause for Osimhen, but his contract runs until 2026, with an option to extend it to 2027. Alongside Arsenal and Manchester United, Juventus and Barcelona are also keen on signing him. Galatasaray, where he is currently playing on loan, is also hoping to keep him permanently.
According to Galatasaray’s vice-president, Abdullah Kavukcu, Osimhen will make his decision in April. He mentioned that five top clubs are interested in the striker, but no official discussions have taken place yet.
Juventus appears to be leading the race as they plan to replace Dusan Vlahovic, but with strong interest from other clubs, the competition for Osimhen will be fierce.
Osimhen’s future remains uncertain, but fans will be eagerly waiting for his decision in the coming months.
