Porsha Williams’ estranged Nigerian husband, Simon Guobadia detained by ICE for deportation

Simon Guobadia, the estranged husband of reality TV star Porsha Williams, has been detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Nigerian businessman is being held at Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia.

Guobadia’s detention comes as part of President Trump’s new mass deportation orders, which he signed after starting his second term in office.

Guobadia moved from Nigeria to the United States in 1982 but reportedly overstayed his visa. In 1985, he was declared deportable.

His legal troubles worsened in 1987 when he was arrested for bank and credit card fraud. After being arrested two more times, he was deported to Nigeria in 1992. However, he managed to return to the U.S. just a month later.

In 2016, he applied for U.S. citizenship, but his application was denied because of his past immigration violations. He has since filed multiple appeals to gain legal status, but all have been unsuccessful.

Williams filed for divorce from Guobadia after 15 months of marriage in November 2022. Their legal battle has been ongoing, with Williams recently winning a case regarding their prenuptial agreement.

In November, she was granted sole possession of their marital home and given full rights to use it for filming or social media content.

With Guobadia now in ICE custody, his future in the United States remains uncertain.
