Russia vs Ukraine: Stop hurling insults, start negotiating -Trump’s aide warns Zelensky

Mike Waltz, the U.S. National Security Adviser, has advised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to stop making negative remarks about Donald Trump.

Waltz gave this warning on Friday, as pressure increased on Ukraine to discuss mineral rights in exchange for continued U.S. military and financial support.

Recently, tensions have grown between Trump and Zelensky due to a proposed mineral deal, which Ukraine has refused.

The disagreement has led to harsh words from both sides in press conferences and on social media. Zelensky accused Trump of believing Russian propaganda, while Trump blamed Zelensky for the war and even called him a dictator who avoids holding elections.

Waltz criticized Kyiv’s approach, saying, “Some of the things coming from Kyiv, especially insults toward President Trump, are not acceptable.” He added that Trump is frustrated because Zelensky has not shown interest in negotiating.

The U.S. plays a key role in supporting Ukraine, but Trump has unsettled Kyiv and its European allies by opening talks with Russia. Many fear that this could result in a deal that favors Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The situation has become personal, with Trump wrongly claiming that Zelensky is unpopular in Ukraine, while Zelensky accuses Trump of spreading Russian misinformation.

Elon Musk, a well-known businessman and Trump supporter, also joined the debate, saying Ukrainians dislike their leader and supporting Trump’s move to exclude Zelensky from negotiations with Russia.

Despite these challenges, Zelensky stated that he had a productive meeting with U.S. envoy Keith Kellogg in Kyiv on Thursday.
