Iran’s Assembly of Experts is expected to meet soon to decide the country’s next supreme leader. The announcement was made by Hossein Mozafari, who said the meeting could happen within 24 hours.

According to Iranian media reports, the assembly, which consists of 88 members, is responsible for selecting the country’s supreme leader. The urgent meeting follows recent political developments in the country.

The decision comes a week after the death of Iran’s former supreme leader Ali Khamenei, who was reportedly killed in an attack linked to United States and Israel.

Mozafari urged citizens to avoid spreading rumors or speculation about the leadership transition until the assembly officially meets and makes its decision.
