PSC approves promotion of 38 ACPS to DCPS, 100 CSPS to ACPS

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of 38 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) to Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs).

It also promoted 100 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) to Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs).

This decision was made on Thursday, February 20, 2025, during a special meeting at the PSC headquarters in Abuja. The meeting was led by the Commission’s Chairman, retired Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Hashimu Argungu.

Other notable attendees included retired Supreme Court Justice Adamu Paul Galmuje, DIG Taiwo Lakanu (rtd), and Chief Onyemuchi Nnamani, the Commission’s Secretary.

Among the newly promoted DCPs are:

  • Emmanuel Deenom
  • Olufemi Takeet
  • Yusuf Doki Sani
  • Joseph Habakkuk Anche
  • Faruku Umaru
  • Danladi Daura
  • Benedict Omotomilola Olomo
  • Bernard Adedayo Ojewale
  • Aminudeen Mohammed
  • Mohammed Lawal Bello, and others.

The CSPs who were promoted to ACPs include:

  • Ibrahim Mohammed Agava
  • Akinloye Joseph Oyegade
  • Rilwanu Mohammed Dutse
  • Ibrahim Aliyu Jauro
  • Abdulmajid Isah, among others.

Some officers who were also promoted include:

  • Godfrey Ogbeide Victor, Commander of the Scorpion Squad in FCT
  • Banawi Ishiaku, DPO Otu Jeremi, Delta State
  • Abbas Abubakar, DPO Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom
  • Celestine Tochukwu Umeh

DIG Argungu assured that the Commission will continue to recognize and reward hardworking officers. However, he urged the promoted officers to remain committed to serving the country.

He also emphasized the need to intensify efforts in the fight against insurgency and banditry.

The Police Service Commission remains dedicated to ensuring that deserving officers are rewarded for their service to the nation.
