Omowunmi, the widow of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad, has explained why the DNA test for her son, Liam, has not been done.
For months, Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, has insisted that a DNA test must be conducted to confirm if Liam is truly Mohbad’s son. However, Omowunmi says her father-in-law is the one causing delays.
In an interview with Chude Jidonwo, Omowunmi stated that her lawyer informed Mohbad’s father that they were ready for the test. But instead of proceeding, she claims he has been making things difficult.
According to Omowunmi, her father-in-law already knows Liam is Mohbad’s child. However, he allegedly does not want the test done because if it confirms Liam’s paternity, the goodwill and support from Mohbad’s fans will shift from him to the child.
She also mentioned that many devoted fans of Mohbad have been reaching out, wanting to be sure of Liam’s paternity before offering any support. She believes her father-in-law does not want this to happen.
Omowunmi further revealed that her father-in-law gave her two conditions before agreeing to the DNA test:
- She must not make the result public.
- She must not take legal action against him after the result is known.
She expressed frustration that while he continues to speak against her in interviews, accusing her of infidelity and questioning Liam’s paternity because of his bowleg, he is still blocking efforts to get the test done.
Omowunmi also shared that she receives hateful messages and threats daily for demanding justice for her late husband. Despite this, she remains determined to clear her name and secure a future for her son.
The situation has sparked mixed reactions from the public, with many calling for transparency in the matter.
