Katsina Hisbah shuts down nightclubs over immorality concerns

The Katsina State Hisbah Board has banned all nightclub activities in the state, saying the move is to uphold moral values and follow Islamic principles.

In a statement released on Wednesday, February 19, Hisbah Commander-General Dr. Aminu Usman (Abu Ammar) said nightclub owners must shut down their businesses to prevent immoral activities, protect societal values, and address security concerns.

He warned that anyone who disobeys the order will face strict penalties. Security agencies have been instructed to ensure full enforcement of the directive.

“We are committed to building a morally upright society and maintaining peace and security in Katsina State,” Usman said.

The board has also informed the state Commissioner for Internal Security and other relevant authorities to help enforce the ban effectively.

According to Usman, this decision is part of Hisbah’s broader efforts to ensure that residents live according to religious and moral standards.
