NPFL: Ilechukwu pleased with Rangers’ win over Remo Stars

Rangers head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu has expressed his happiness after his team’s impressive victory over Remo Stars in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The Flying Antelopes defeated league leaders Remo Stars 2-1 in an exciting matchday 24 clash in Enugu on Sunday. This loss was Remo Stars’ first in nine games. Rangers also took revenge for their 2-1 defeat against Remo Stars earlier this season.

Speaking after the match, Ilechukwu praised his players for their strong performance, acknowledging the difficulty of facing a top team.

“We are happy with the three points. I knew it would be a tough game because Remo Stars are currently the best team in Nigeria. Beating them and breaking their unbeaten run is a big achievement,” he said.

Despite dealing with several injuries, Rangers managed to secure the important win. Ilechukwu emphasized that his team believed in themselves and knew how crucial the match was.

“Before the game, Remo Stars had 48 points, and we had 35. I told the players that winning this match would prove to us that we can still compete despite our injuries,” he added.

This victory boosts Rangers’ confidence as they continue their NPFL campaign.
