A lawsuit accusing rappers Jay-Z and Diddy of assaulting a 13-year-old girl at a party in New York in 2000 has been dropped by the accuser.
Court documents filed on Friday in New York federal court show that the lawsuit was “voluntarily dismissed with prejudice.” This means the case cannot be refiled.
Jay-Z reacted to the news, calling it a win for people who are falsely accused.
“Today is a victory. The false and shocking accusations have been dismissed,” he said in a statement on Roc Nation’s social media page.
He also mentioned the impact of the case on his family, saying, “The trauma my wife, my children, and my loved ones have endured can never be dismissed.”
The lawsuit’s dismissal brings an end to the legal claims against the two music stars.
