Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has expressed frustration after the Ogun State government sealed his uncompleted building and hotel in Sango-Ota.
The singer shared a notice of contravention on Instagram, showing that the Ogun State Planning and Development Authority closed down his properties over alleged illegal development.
Portable claimed that authorities arrested about 20 people, including his workers and customers, during the operation. He also alleged that his bar’s alcoholic beverages were confiscated.
In a social media post, the ‘Zazu’ singer questioned why his properties were sealed. He explained that he uses the venue for events, shows, and helping people.
He also mentioned that he had contributed to improving the area by providing electricity and calling for road repairs before the government stepped in.
The singer pleaded with the government to review the situation, emphasizing that the properties help him support his family and others.
The Ogun State Planning and Development Authority has not yet responded to Portable’s claims.
