Tenant breaks landlord’s head with pestle in Enugu after he asked her to pack out

In a shocking incident in Enugu State, a woman and her two children have been taken into police custody after she allegedly attacked her landlord with a pestle. The incident took place in the Umugbabe Ovoko community, located in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area.

According to Enugu media personality Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, who shared the news on Facebook on January 31, 2025, the young landlord, an orphan, had asked the woman to vacate the property. However, instead of peacefully complying with the request, the woman struck the landlord in the head with a pestle.

Ugwuanyi further revealed that the landlord had allowed the woman and her children to stay with him, as he was living alone in the large house. Now, the woman and her children are currently being detained at the Ibagwa Police Station.

This incident has left many shocked, particularly considering the violent response to a simple request for the tenant to leave. It serves as a reminder of how important it is to resolve conflicts peacefully, even in challenging living situations.
