Shake-up As Sports Commission Reassigns 57 Federation Secretaries

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has taken a bold step to enhance the sports sector by reassigning 57 Secretaries-General and officers across various National Sports Federations. This decision is part of a larger plan to improve the efficiency and performance of sports administration in Nigeria.

Olumide Bamiduro, the Director of Federation of Elite Athletes at the NSC, made the announcement in Abuja. He explained that the changes align with the vision of the NSC Chairman, Shehu Dikko, and Director-General, Bukola Olopade. Both leaders aim to revitalize the sports sector and make it more effective.

The sports federations affected by this reshuffle include popular ones like Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Boxing, Cricket, Table Tennis, Volleyball, and Wrestling, among others.

Bamiduro stated that the Federation Establishment and Appointment Department has been directed to implement these changes. According to him, this move highlights the NSC’s strong commitment to fostering growth and ensuring better management in sports federations.

These adjustments are expected to create a more organized and dynamic sports sector, paving the way for greater achievements in national and international competitions.

The NSC’s efforts are a positive signal for the future of sports in Nigeria, as these strategic changes aim to bring fresh energy and direction to sports federations across the country.
