Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, chairman of the North-Central APC Forum, is confident that President Bola Tinubu will secure a second term in the 2027 presidential election. In a statement released on January 3, 2025, Zazzaga highlighted the transformative impact of Tinubu’s policies, which he believes will convince Nigerians to reelect him.
This optimism comes in response to comments by Hashimu Suleiman Dungurawa, the Kano State chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), who predicted Tinubu’s defeat in 2027. Dungurawa criticized Tinubu’s policies, calling them “anti-masses” and claiming they would push voters toward NNPP’s leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Zazzaga defended Tinubu’s administration, emphasizing that tough decisions like removing the fuel subsidy and floating the Naira were necessary for Nigeria’s economic recovery. According to him, these reforms are already showing positive results, such as a stronger Naira, increased oil production, and rising foreign reserves.
“By 2027, Nigerians will see the full impact of these reforms,” Zazzaga said. “Tinubu is putting Nigeria on the right path, and his achievements will make his reelection inevitable.
Zazzaga also praised Tinubu’s efforts to improve security, particularly in the North-Central region. Farmers, he noted, now feel safer to work on their farms, a significant improvement compared to past administrations. Furthermore, he commended Tinubu for bringing more infrastructure projects to the region than any previous government.
The North-Central APC Forum has already endorsed Tinubu for a second term, citing his administration’s achievements in security, the economy, and infrastructure. Zazzaga urged Nigerians to rally behind Tinubu’s reforms, which he described as “pro-poor” and essential for long-term national growth.
“President Tinubu’s policies are already benefiting Nigerians,” Zazzaga concluded. “We must support his administration to ensure these changes continue to transform our country.
While the 2027 elections are still years away, it’s clear that Tinubu’s policies and leadership style will remain central to political debates in Nigeria. For the APC, leaders like Zazzaga believe that these reforms are not only necessary but will ultimately secure another term for Tinubu.
