Governor Sule suspends board over teachers employment fraud

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has taken decisive action to address the issue of fraudulent teacher recruitment in the state. The Governor has suspended the chairman and members of the Teachers Service Commission after it was revealed that over 1,000 teachers were hired without proper approval.

Previously, Governor Sule had made it clear that only teachers hired through the proper channels would be entitled to full benefits. This issue gained attention when the affected teachers complained about not being paid their salaries.

The suspension of the board members came after the Teachers Service Commission admitted to the illegal hiring during a meeting at the Government House. The commission acknowledged that they had recruited over 1,000 teachers without seeking approval from the governor.

To resolve the situation, Governor Sule has set up a committee to investigate the unauthorized recruitment process. The committee’s goal is to address the concerns of the affected teachers and ensure that the Teachers Service Commission operates transparently and with accountability.
