The reason why the police has not given Speed Darlington bail is something none of us can explain – Singer’s lawyer, Stan Alieke, says

Speed Darlington’s lawyer, Stan Alieke, has expressed frustration over the police’s refusal to grant the singer bail. According to Alieke, Speed Darlington has been in detention for three weeks, and the police have scheduled his arraignment for January 15, 2025. This means he will remain in custody during the Christmas and New Year holidays at the IRT detention center in Abuja, also known as “Abattoir.”

Speaking during a live chat, Alieke explained that the police have the authority to grant administrative bail but have chosen not to. He believes this might be due to unresolved issues between Speed Darlington and the police, particularly regarding bribery allegations the singer made against them.

The arrest followed a petition filed by fellow artist Burna Boy, accusing Speed Darlington of defamation. Despite the seriousness of the allegations, Alieke questions why bail has not been considered, emphasizing that the prolonged detention is unnecessary.

Fans and supporters of Speed Darlington continue to express concern about his situation, hoping for a resolution soon.
