Rapper Foxy Brown stirred curiosity on social media after posting cryptic messages just one day after Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs were accused of raping a 13-year-old girl. The allegations stem from a civil lawsuit that was refiled, which claims the incident took place at an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty in 2000.
On Instagram, Foxy posted “WOW” and “WAIT” alongside a shocked face emoji, followed by a cold face emoji. Though her posts came after the lawsuit resurfaced, Foxy did not directly comment on the case.
The rapper, whose real name is Inga DeCarlo Fung Marchand, has worked with Jay-Z in the past, including on the 1996 song “I’ll Be.” Foxy previously spoke out in October, denying claims she had signed a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) about her relationship with Jay-Z.
“What [Buzbee] had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle,” he wrote.
She also made it clear she supported him, writing on social media, “Y’all want me to be anti-Hov so bad. FOH.”
“In icon business! Miss me wit that fake news,” Brown wrote, according to Billboard. “NDA? Ain’t a MF alive could stop my story. NDA on my s–t gon’ run 100 mill.”
“Stop playin’ wit my name, dyin’ for a comment,” she wrote at the time. “Can’t spin me with the sucker s–t to take Hov down. Betta ask bout’ the cloth I’m cut from.”
Jay-Z and Combs have both denied the rape allegations. Jay-Z called the lawsuit a form of blackmail, while Combs’ legal team dismissed the claims as a publicity stunt.
