If I Were Evil, I Wouldn’t Be Here Due to the Location– Fubara Remarks During Road Inauguration in Wike’s LG

In a recent event, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State highlighted the importance of putting the people’s needs first, no matter the political affiliations. This message was delivered during the inauguration of Okocha Road in the Rumuolumeni community, located in the Obio Akpor Local Government Area.

Governor Fubara spoke on the importance of focusing on what truly matters in politics—serving the people. He emphasized that politics shouldn’t only be about who supports or opposes you, but about addressing the needs of the community. He stated, “Politics should also include attending to the needs of the people.”

The governor pointed out that governance should move beyond personal or sectional interests. He underlined that the government’s role is to protect lives, provide essential services, and improve the lives of the people. Fubara said, “If I were an evil person, I might say I wouldn’t come here because of the location of this place. But, it’s our duty to make sure people are happy and secure.”

In his speech, Governor Fubara also thanked the residents for their support in the elections and presented the road project as a token of appreciation for their votes. It was a gesture meant to show his commitment to improving their community.

Governor Fubara’s remarks serve as a reminder that politics should always prioritize the well-being of the people, rather than personal or political gains.
