Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State recently responded to a media aide of Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, after the aide made critical remarks about Fubara’s recent projects in Etche-Omuma. Fubara labeled the aide “a data boy” and “dog seller,” questioning his qualifications and accusing him of lacking a true understanding of governance despite his long association with a former governor.
Fubara expressed his dissatisfaction with the aide’s approach, highlighting how he used social media to make negative comments instead of offering constructive contributions. He also challenged the aide’s credibility, asking why he hadn’t received a similar appointment if he were indeed qualified.
The Governor also addressed claims that his projects were just continuations of Wike’s efforts, emphasizing that his administration was focused on delivering fresh, impactful projects that directly benefited the people. He specifically mentioned the importance of the remodeled Government Girls’ Secondary School in Ahoada, which aims to provide quality education for girls and contribute to the community.
While responding to the criticism, Fubara reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that his administration’s projects would have lasting, meaningful effects, rather than simply being for show. He also thanked the Ekpeye people for their continued support, despite challenges such as the detention of traditional rulers and his Chief of Staff. Fubara expressed confidence that justice would ultimately prevail.
