In a recent address at the 9th convocation ceremony of the Federal University, Dutsinma, President Bola Tinubu assured the people of Northern Nigeria that his administration is committed to eradicating terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping. Speaking through Professor Abdulkarim Mohammed, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Dutse, Tinubu emphasized the need for collective action to tackle insecurity in the country.
President Tinubu stated that combating insecurity is not just the responsibility of the government but requires the active participation of all citizens. He urged individuals to report any suspicious activities to security agencies, highlighting that community involvement is essential for creating a safer environment.
In addition to addressing security concerns, the President encouraged the youth to utilize a loan scheme designed to support their educational and entrepreneurial aspirations. This initiative has already provided over N70 billion in loans to help young people pursue their goals. Tinubu stressed that governance is a collaborative effort, stating, “It is not just about the presidency or leaders but about all Nigerians working together to improve our country.”
During the ceremony, Professor Armaya’u Bichi, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Dutsinma, spoke about the persistent issue of insecurity affecting the university and its students. The convocation celebrated the graduation of 297 postgraduate students, including 18 Ph.D. graduates, 226 Master’s degree recipients, and 53 students with professional diplomas.
Additionally, Abdullahi Garba Faskari, representing Katsina Governor Dikko Umar Radda, outlined the state’s ongoing efforts to enhance access to quality education. He mentioned that significant investments are being made to improve the educational landscape in Katsina.
