Adamu Usman Tela, the deputy director of administration at the hospital, explained the rationale behind the decision on September 19. Tela stated, “We took this step even before receiving any complaints, because taking care of the public health is the first thing.” This proactive approach underscores the hospital’s commitment to prioritizing patient care over personal activities during work hours.
To ensure compliance with the new policy, the hospital has deployed SERVICOM, ACTU, and Security Officers. These teams will monitor staff activities to ensure that the ban is followed and to address any potential violations.
