In a troubling incident at RBS Health Care Centre in Gangapur, Bihar, a nurse managed to fend off a gang-rape attempt. The attack occurred late Wednesday night when Dr. Sanjay Kumar, a doctor and the hospital administrator, and two of his intoxicated associates, attempted to assault the nurse.
As the men tried to force themselves on her, the nurse used a blade to injure Dr. Kumar’s private parts. She then escaped to a nearby field, where she called the police. Authorities quickly arrived at the scene, ensured the nurse’s safety, and arrested the three men: Dr. Kumar, Sunil Kumar Gupta, and Awadhesh Kumar.
The police also found evidence including liquor, the blade used by the nurse, blood-stained clothes, and cellphones. The men had locked the hospital and turned off the CCTV cameras before the attack. They face charges not only for the assault but also for violating Bihar’s prohibition laws. Dr. Kumar is also linked to the Hindu Samaj Party.
